ONIAGE logo

The image of an aerial outline of the fictional "Onigashima" or the palmer-like feel of the demon's head is not bad either.

The word ONIAGE is handwritten.

When I was thinking of the name for this project, I started by thinking of the store name, the concept of the project, and other things, and as I continued to draw various "pictures," I eventually came to the conclusion that it was simply just the parts.

Hokancho Entertainment

As the name suggests, Onigashima is an "entertainment" place that we discovered when we came across a small shop in a small town during our travels. Tee, a member who aims to provide entertainment that will entertain people like crazy, has a special memory of this place.

Is the name an Okayama dialect? Or a slang? Oniage! In this case, oniage has elements of language such as "I was incredibly excited", "I was so excited!" or "It's crazy."

The words are written in a calligraphy style that gives them a Japanese feel, symbolizing present-day Japan in my own way, and by pronouncing them in English, I am able to convey a worldwide understanding.

One Japanese word that is gradually spreading around the world is "mottainai," which is used to refer to protecting the global environment. Other words from the subculture such as "kawaii" (cute), "otaku" (nerd), and "manga" (manga) have also come to represent the wonderful virtues of Japan. Just like that, "oni-age," a word from the Japanese regional city of Okayama, is also aiming to become a word known to those in each country.
